LEGAL SCOPE
Section two of article 22 of Law 34/2002, of July 11, on information society services and electronic commerce (hereinafter, LSSI), in relation to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of April 27, 2016, General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter, RGPD) and Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights (hereinafter, LOPDGDD) establishes that:
- Service providers may use data storage and retrieval devices on recipients' terminal equipment, provided that the recipients have given their consent after having been provided with clear and complete information on their use, in particular, on the purposes of data processing, in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection regulations.
- Where technically feasible and effective, the recipient's consent to accept data processing may be provided by using appropriate browser settings or other applications.
- The above shall not prevent any possible storage or access of a technical nature for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network or, to the extent strictly necessary, for the provision of an information society service expressly requested by the recipient.
The GDPR, in its recital 30, mentions these technologies and their impact on data protection, stating that Natural persons may be associated with online identifiers provided by their devices, applications, tools and protocols, such as internet protocol addresses, session identifiers in the form of "cookies" or other identifiers, such as radio frequency identification tags. This may leave traces which, in particular, when combined with unique identifiers and other data received by the servers, can be used to create profiles of natural persons and identify them.
This cookie policy has been revised in accordance with the new rules on the use of cookies that the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) published on July 28, 2020, modifying the Guide on the use of cookies to adapt it to the Guidelines on consent modified in May 2020 by the European Data Protection Committee (EDPC) (Guidelines 05/2020) on consent. Specifically, it has taken technical measures to ensure that the option "continue browsing" is not configured as an option to obtain consent, and that "cookie walls" are not implemented.
In compliance with the established regulations, below we provide information regarding the “cookies” used.
INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES
We inform you that this website you have accessed uses its own and third-party 'cookies' to offer you a better experience and service. By browsing or using our services, the user does not accept our use of 'cookies', but rather their consent is expressly collected, and without blocking, if rejected, said browsing capacity.
Cookies used for any of the following purposes are exempt from compliance with the obligations established in article 22.2 of the LSSI:
- Allow only communication between the user's computer and the network.
- Strictly provide a service expressly requested by the user.
WHAT IS A COOKIE
“Cookies” are small files that some platforms, such as web pages, can install on your computer, smartphone, tablet, connected television, etc., when you access them. Their functions can be very varied: storing your browsing preferences, collecting statistical information, enabling certain technical functions, storing and retrieving information about the browsing habits or preferences of a user or their equipment to the point, sometimes, depending on the information they contain and the way you use your equipment, of being able to recognize you. A cookie is stored on a computer to personalize and facilitate the user's navigation as much as possible. 'Cookies' play a very important role, by improving the experience of using the website.
In other words, a cookie is a piece of information sent by a website and stored in the user's browser, so that the website can consult the user's previous activity. A cookie does not only identify a person, but can incorporate a combination of computer-browser-user.
WHY DOES THE WEBSITE USE COOKIES?
Cookies are used to distinguish users and to act differently depending on them. One use of cookies is to identify users on a website. Users are usually identified by entering their credentials on a validation page; cookies allow the server to know that the user is already validated or browsing the website, and therefore can be allowed to access services or perform operations that are restricted to non-identified users.
Why are they important?
- From a technical point of view, they allow websites to function more quickly and in a manner adapted to user preferences, such as storing the language, the country's currency or detecting the access device.
- They establish levels of protection and security that prevent or hinder cyberattacks against the website or its users.
- They allow media managers to access statistical data collected in Cookies to improve the quality and experience of their services.
- They are used to optimize the advertising we show to users, offering the one that best suits their interests.
TYPES OF COOKIES
Depending on the entity that manages the computer or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, we can distinguish:
Own cookies: are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies. In the event that the cookies are served from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered as first-party cookies if the third party uses them for its own purposes (for example, to improve the services it provides or to provide advertising services for other entities).
Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained through 'cookies' are processed, the website may use:
Technical cookies: These are those that allow the user to navigate through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services that exist therein, including those that the editor uses to allow the management and operation of the website and enable its functions and services.
Preference or personalization cookies: These are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which the user accesses the service, etc.
Analysis or measurement cookies: These are cookies that allow the person responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked, including the quantification of the impact of advertisements. The information collected through this type of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, application or platform, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the data on the use made by users of the service.
Behavioural advertising cookies: these are cookies that store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
Depending on the expiration, the Cookies used may have the following types of expiration:
Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a website. They are usually used to store information that is only of interest to the user for the provision of the service requested on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and they disappear at the end of the session.
Persistent cookies: these are cookies in which the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years. This website uses both temporary session cookies and permanent cookies.
In some cases, if you disable any of these cookies, you will not be able to receive our content and services correctly. On other occasions, the website may continue to function. In any case, we would like to inform you that the information collected by these cookies on the use of our website and on the success of the advertisements displayed on it allows us to improve our services and obtain income that allows us to offer you many contents in a less expensive way.
